Remind yourself that it’s ok not to be perfect
Life is a journey and there are situations when we feel like giving up – simply quitting. Though it is easy to encourage and motivate others when they face failure or tough circumstances. But when it happens to us we are taken by surprise and it seems that life is unfair and the situation too difficult to handle. It’s hard to stay strong when you feel like giving up. It feels like your world is crumbling down around you, and there is no option out. The reason why we think like this is because we forget about the big picture. We focus on the minor things and not the major things that are important in our life.
Under such conditions, the temptation to give up is a common one, and nobody is exempt. Failure / Rejection is not something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human emotion, we somehow tend to give up just before we are about to make that huge break-through that we have been putting so much effort in to become successful.
We all need to take time for ourselves. I know that most of the time we don’t get to do something we love, that makes us happy, that makes us calm and inspired. Not taking time for ourselves leads to stress and pessimism, because we constantly feel like we’re “on a mission”, but there is something I want to tell you: if you never take time for a break, then you’re never focused, never working. Because you need both in your life to be balanced, and if you only feel like you’re constantly working on serious matters, then it becomes your constant state, and it is not good: this is where all the stress is coming from. So take time for yourself often, whether it is practicing a hobby that you already love, or finding a new one… the key is to do something for your own joy, yours only, for once.
Not only it will give you a break from exterior worries, but it will also allow you to see things in a broader perspective: having to deal with several problems and several decisions at the time is a sure way to get lost, to lose sight of the actual goal you’re aiming at, the actual decision you need to make, and won’t make you find a solution to your problems. Simply because it’s overwhelming. It’s normal to feel like this, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have the determination and the abilities to move towards what you want and the goals you set yourself! You’re just as capable as anyone! Listen more to your inner self, and you will feel that shining energy within you that is only waiting for you to acknowledge it!
It’s about confidence, not only in the future but more importantly, WITHIN YOURSELF. Yes, you have the ability to adapt! Yes, you have the ability to learn from your experiences and to grow stronger and wiser from them! So when things are getting tough and you feel as though you want to give up, remind yourself that loss of hope is only temporary.
Don’t let mental blocks control you. Set yourself free. Confront your fear and turn the mental blocks into building blocks. – Roopleen
