Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.

In an intellectual sense, we all know that life is short. But how many of us actually live our day to day lives like we’re really going to die one day? Many of us live lives filled with responsibilities and unpleasant chores. We spend so much of our mental energy just getting through each day that it’s easy to forget that our time on earth is finite, that each moment we fritter away is a moment we will never get back. We just try to run away whenever hardship hits our life. We find it as an easy escape rather than fighting for it. Giving up seems to be the easiest possible way for us.

Hardships can break you or make you if you let it, the choice is always in your hands. Sometimes we fall down and never get back up, whereas sometimes we go through all the hardships and discover our true selves. Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny. So don’t give up easily. Keep fighting wait for the rainbow on the other side.

Always remember, Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t. It is always your reaction, rather than the problem itself, that determines how your life’s story will develop. So take every step carefully and don’t lose your focus from your goal. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed. Re-evaluate the situation and check what went wrong. Learn your own lessons on how to improve your performance for the next time.

All the worse experiences leave us feeling weak and hopeless. But that’s no reason to stay down for long. No matter what you’re going through in life, other people just like you have gone through the same or worse and come out stronger on the other side. It’s times like these you need to be strong and never give up. Of course, most of the times we just don’t realize our own strength until we come face to face with our greatest weakness. One thing that should always be kept in mind is that strength does not come from winning. All of our struggles develop your strengths. When we go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is a strength. Anyone can give up. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do after all. But to hold it together when everything else falls apart, that’s true strength.

Louise Erdrich has said really beautiful lines to describe the hardships of life – “Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could.”

We need to be reminded that life’s too short to spend every day doing work you hate. Life’s too short to hold grudges against people we love. Life’s too short to not live life to the fullest. We only have one life and one body to take care of, and we better do it right. You never know what tomorrow may bring, so we better live this life the best we can and be grateful for everything we have.

There comes a time in your life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who created it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. Always remember, life is too short to be anything but happy.
